Sourdough Blueberry Waffles

These soft blueberry sourdough waffles will satisfy all the blueberry lovers and waffle lovers in your house. With just enough tang of sourdough in every bite.

Equipment

  • Waffle Maker

Ingredients
  

  • 1 3/4 cup of sourdough starter
  • 1/4 cup of flour and water combined
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp pink salt
  • 2 tbsp agave you can also use honey if you prefer
  • 4 tbsp melted coconut oil & butter combined
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Spray oil to keep the waffle batter from sticking to waffle maker if needed.
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries

Instructions
 

  • Preheat waffle maker to desired setting.
  • In a large mixing bowl combine 1 3/4 cups of fed sourdough starter.
  • Add in 1/4 cup of flour and water combined.
  • Add in 2 eggs, 1/2 tsp pink salt, 2 tbsp agave, 4 tbsp melted coconut oil and or butter combined.
  • Mix all the ingredients well with a large wooden spoon or whisk.
  • Add in 1 tsp baking soda (mix in well)
  • Using scooper or batter pourer begin pouring batter on hot waffle maker.
  • Drop desired amount of blueberries into waffle batter.
  • Close the waffle maker and cook until done.
  • Repeat this process for each waffle.

Notes

  • Making sure your sourdough has been fed for at least 24 hours will give your blueberry sourdough waffles the most added health benefits.
  • If possible use organic blueberries
  • If possible use fresh, farm, free-range eggs.
