Raw Milk Homemade Ice Cream

Equipment

  • ice cream maker
  • heavy bottom saucepan
  • whisk
  • ice cream scoop
  • air-tight container for storing the icecream

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups fresh heavy cream
  • 1 cup raw milk
  • 1/4 cup raw cane sugar or an alternative sweetener like honey or agave
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Instructions
 

  • Over medium-low heat whisk together the heavy cream, raw milk, cane sugar vanilla extract, and salt. Whisk together until the sugar is dissolved and the ingredients are warmed. (Do not boil or scorch the ingredients!)
  • Once complete remove from heat and allow to cool for about 30mins. Then place in the refrigerator for at least 2-4 hours. Longer if possible for optimum chill time.
  • When ready, pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and follow the instructions according to your machine.
